U10's Manager

Favourite Player: Dennis Irwin

I'm a FA level 1 coach and also Dad of a player in my team.

I worked in my younger years as a football and other sports coach in the USA at a summer camp in Connecticut. Working with ages 7-15. That experience was great and when I was approached to coach at AFC Gnosall I thought back to that time and couldn't say no.

I'm an Engineering Manager at Jaguar Land Rover so my work life is very different to coaching football although I do have the odd prima donna strops to deal with.

My coaching style is very much split into tactical/ technical and team building. My teams journey through the years we've been together, has been very much lead by the boys own development. As we see the boys ability improve we challenge them with tougher training games. The most rewarding part of the coaching role has been to see them come together as a team and start to drive and challenge each other to do better.  On their day they play some lovely football but getting them to resist this week in week out is definitely our current challenge.

We've a long way to go as a team but the journey so far has been rewarding and full of fun.
